Why did you create this website?
Boredom. Mostly anyway. I've always been interested in web design/HTML and so I just thought I'd see what I could do with it. I guess you could say it's my creative outlet...

How long did your site take to build?
I worked on this version of it constantly for about a week. It's an ongoing process really, I'm always making little changes here and there.

How long has this website been running?
It was originally designed and uploaded in May 2000 using Microsoft Frontpage. Having had over 2000 visitors, I thought it was about time to have a change and so I redesigned the site using only HTML and Javacript instead, producing what you see now.

Where did you get your domain?
My site is hosted at Telinco, using webspace I got when I signed up for their ISP.
I also registered a domain name [www.jackiecurrie.co.uk] for about £10 two years ago at www.just-the-name.co.uk, but this was merely a forwarding URL and didn't offer hosting.
The £10 charge covered two years of registering the domain, but alas, my time is up. Therefore I have to pay another £10 if I want to keep my domain... watch this space. It could take a while.

Your site does not display correctly on my browser/screen resolution. Why is this?
Please bear in mind that this site was designed for best viewing at a screen resolution of 800x600 (the most common resolution) and using Internet Explorer 5 or higher. I have no idea what it looks like in Netscape Navigator. Thus, if these aren't your specifications, it could look kinda messy, or there might be lots of empty space at the right hand side of your screen. Sorry. Maybe one day I'll get round to designing the site for other screen resolutions... ;)

Both the hit counter and guestbook are courtesy of Bravenet.com.

Who is that girl in the pictures on your website?
That, my uncultured friend, would be Thora Birch in her role as Enid in the film 'Ghost World'. The film is based on an underground graphic novel of the same title by Daniel Clowes [author of 'Crumb', also turned into a film] and is directed by Terry Zwigoff. 'Ghost World' is one of my favourite films and also stars Steve Buscemi, Scarlet Johansson, Bob Balaban, Teri Garr, Brad Renfro, Illeana Douglas and David Cross. If you haven't already seen it I demand you do so immediately!

Why is the title of your site 'accentuate the negative'?
It's the tagline for 'Ghost World', I liked it so it's part of the 'Ghost World' theme of the site.

Why don't you have any pictures of yourself on your site?
I don't really see the need. If you want a picture that badly, email me. Mind you, I don't just hand them out to anybody... but if you buy me presents I'll be much more obliging ;)

Where did you get your graphics?
The graphics on the first page of the site I made myself. Most 'Ghost World' related pictures were taken from IMDB.com and customised by me.
